Juki HZL-DX7 Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine

If you are looking for a high-performance machine that is still light on the budget and easy to carry around, the Juki HZL-DX7 is exactly what you are need! Focusing on making a machine that is user-friendly, efficient, and full of great features, this sewing machine is what every sewist would love to own.

The Juki HZL-DX7 is one of the higher end machines that Juki makes. It can be used to make even and consistent straight stitches, great zigzag stitching, and beautiful free-motion quilting.

For beautifully even stitches, the Juki “box feed” is integrated into this machine, ensuring consistent and even fabric feeding. The HZL-DX7 handles thicker fabrics and layers beautifully thanks to this unique feeding system and can stitch through any type of fabric whether lightweight, heavyweight, or stretch.

If you would like your quilts to come out beautifully without any stitch pulling, just set the Juki HZL-DX7 to sew with the presser foot lifted and floating ever so slightly at a setting of your choice.

Button holes are created with ease through the sensor buttonholing system that Juki uses. There are 16 choices of buttonholes types so you can choose which one best suits your project.

With the Juki HZL-DX7, you can select patterns and stitches with the touch panel and choose from 80 stitches including alphabetical/numerical fonts!

There are buttons that are easy and quick to select that control the machine, including reverse or lock stitch, thread trim, needle up or down, start or stop, and auto-lift presser foot. You can also assign a function to the foot switch/pedal’s heel portion for easy access.

Sewing speed on the Juki HZL-DX7 can be adjusted to a maximum of 1050 stitches made in a minute. For ease of use, if you need to sew on tight corners or be particularly precise with your stitches, you can use the low-speed or inching sewing function. Your stitches can also be adjusted in length or width with the easy adjustment dial.

The machine comes with 30 accessories, and includes the Juki warranty of 5 yrs mechanical parts, 2 yrs electronic parts, and 90 days on defects whether of workmanship or material.

Float function prevents uneven seams - By pressing the float button, you can sew with the presser foot slightly raised. Raising the presser foot to float allows you to sew fabrics without pushing layers or creating uneven seams.

Sew with the presser foot slightly floated - The height of the presser foot can be set in increments of 0.1 mm, allowing delicate adjustment according to the materials.

Using the float function - The standard presser foot is used in both cases.

Not using the float function - Pressure on layers creates uneven seams.

Direct stitch pattern selection - Often-used sewing patterns such as straight lines, overcast stitches, and zigzag patterns can be quickly selected via direct buttons. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the touch panel.

unnamedpatt.jpg

One-point patterns - The decorative patterns can be sewn as one point patterns. It is also lovely to create an original tag by combining these patterns with the character stitches.

unnamedchar.jpg

Character stitch - The 80 included stitch patterns contain three alphabetic/numeric fonts. Up to ten often-used patterns such as names and initials can be saved in the memory.

unnameddslkr5ge.jpg

Corner sewing of applique - The stitch width of the needle can be set to automatically and gradually change to achieve a stitch that gives a beautiful finish even to the corner of an applique or the start / end of a line of sewing. By adjusting the width and length, you can also control the angles of your design.

unnamed2erssodf.jpg

Lace-like patterns - Sewing several patterns in parallel creates lovely lace-like stitches. You can enjoy the combination of patterns that give the image of dedicated lace braid.

unnameddnbb0uju.jpg

Straight stitch slide plate - Simply slide the front lever to switch to a single needle hole! Sew the lightest fabrics with perfect needle permeation. The single needle plate will not allow fabrics to be pushed into the needle hole. Sew with confidence. When the single needle hole plate is set, only the straight stitch patterns can be selected.

The machine was shipped from SewVacDirect and arrived by UPS in excellent condition. This machine was purchased as gift for my wife and she loves it. This model comes with all the accessories you could ever want. The automatic button sizing shoe is incredible.
It is a solid machine and should provide years of service.

but I think I’m really going to like the machine

Posted by Alaskan Granny on 8th Nov 2018

I’ve only had this a few weeks, but I think I’m really going to like the machine. If you’ve been sewing on a mechanical machine for a long time, an electronic machine has many features that make sewing easier, but there’s definitely a learning curve. This has more “included” features than a comparable Bernina or Janome. I’m happy with my choice. And it does sew a nice straight stitch.

    I love this machine!

Posted by Davin on 8th Nov 2018

Love love love this machine! I use juki industrial machines at my work doing alterations and fell in love with them. This machine is everything I wanted and more. I love all the stitch options, needle threader (make sure the needle is in the highest position possible or it doesn't work), I love the leg bar to lift the foot while I'm holding the fabric with both hands, and I love the automatic cut & lift by pressing my heel. If you need a really good machine with some bells and whistles, this is the way to go!

Excellent choice for beginners and experienced garment sewists alike!

Posted by SewRusty on 31st Oct 2018

It took me a long time to work up the courage to buy a sewing machine online and not test it out first. Juki machines have rave reviews for a reason, they just work. No fuss, no drama, just perfect stitches. If you are looking at a sewing machine, try reading reviews on them on PatternReview. Several of us have this machine and have reviewed it on there, plus there is a whole forum dedicated to the care and feeding of your new Juki.

I was kind of lukewarm about this machine when I first started using it, but now I'm sold. If you are coming from a mechanical or minimalistic computerized machine, this machine may be overwhelming at first. There are a few things I wish it had that it doesn't (glass touch screen!!), and the stitch selection process might take a while to get used to, but once you get past that, you're golden. I recommend this machine to garment sewists, but it would probably work pretty well for a casual quilter. I think I hardcore quilter would probably prefer more harp space. This machine would be an excellent beginner machine--the price is decent, the quality is great, and you won't have to worry about "outgrowing" it. (Unless you get bit by the embroidery bug, but that's a whole 'nother machine.) It even comes with a lot of accessories that are actually useful, so you don't have to go out and buy a bunch of special feet or an extension table.

    THE WAITING IS OVER

Posted by Michael White on 31st Oct 2018

I have an industrial Juki walking foot machine with needle positioning that I use for leather and suede and that I really love. It has that quiet power and confidence of a beautifully-designed piece of equipment. Working with lighter fabrics with my Bernina was ok but I felt like I was using a homemaker machine without the smoothness and control of the big one. The larger Bernina machines have not gotten good press and I love my serger that Juki makes as well, so I decided on the DX7. It came today and was a great choice. They have obviously incorporated their industrial know-how into this consumer model. It sews quietly and beautifully. The thread cutter is convenient and the needle threader even works! Buttonholes are a breeze and the controls are very visual and intuitive. I love the multi-function pedal and it comes with lots of accessories including a generous work table and a knee lift. Bravo!
