I selected this machine to replace a 50+ year old White Company sewing machine. I use it for general garment sewing and also have a serger so I don't need a ton of special stitches. I was used to the 4-step buttonhole because that's what I had on my White Company machine, and this model Janome also has a 4-step buttonholer. This new Janome machine is very similar in feel to my previous White Company machine, which is what I was looking for. I also appreciate that the Janome HD 1000 is all metal because that is the type of machine I had previously. I decided to go with the black model of this Jarome HD1000 and I am glad I did! I did some test stitching and it seems fine, but I haven't used it a lot as of yet. But, based on what I've seen so far, I am very happy with my purchase.
She will get it in 6 days then if you send another review after that I can give 5 star review
I'm new to sewing and it's pretty easy to operate and seems very durable.
On soft frabric you may have to hold the thread tails at the beginning of the seam.
Also adjust bobbin tension to match the thread or have a few bobbin cases for different weight thread.
