Nice smooth sewing machine. I have always used brothers sewing machine. This is my first Janome.. I love it and would recommend it
Light weight but sturdy. Sews nice, even on heavy material. Settings are easy to master. Haven’t tried everything but love it so far.
SO HAPPY WITH THIS MACHINE. Very easy to use, especially the self threader. Quiet, and sturdy and light.
I am sooo happy with this purchase. I had another machine that made my sewing experiences miserable! I like to sew little projects like scarves and hats..I also sew on my greeting cards that I make. This machine is absolutely perfect for what I need it for. Easy to wind the bobbin and thread the needle. I would recommend this to anyone. I consider myself to be an intermediate level seamstress.
We received the sewing machine timely, new in the box. I purchased this as a beginner sewing machine. It took me about 3 hours to figure out how to set it up, in terms of threading it and setting up the spools. I have absolutely no experience with a sewing machine, so do not discount the time it took me to set it up. After you learn how to thread the machine and the needle the first time, I think this process runs pretty smoothly. I still didn't get the needle threaded correctly with the automatic threader. I ended up threading the needle myself. Again, I do not know if that is beginner's luck or just not a great design. It may be that way with all machines. Being new to sewing, I thought when it meant automatic, it really meant automatic and hands- free. But not a big deal. I used a magnifier and threaded it the needle in a second. I have to work on the tension a little bit, because it did eat up the material (basic cotton for pillow cases) trying to sew right on the edge of the fabric to avoid any fraying, but again that may be beginner's luck and trial and error again. I think I am satisfied with this machine. I am impressed. It did what I expected a sewing machine to do. I look forward to using it. If I find any errors with the machine as I progress, I will report. I think it will handle thicker fibers, such as those you might use when sewing a quilt. I researched a lot of machines, and a friend recommended this brand over Singer. So I am looking forward to trying a brand that is new to me in terms of brand recognition.
