Juki MO 1000 Serger

The Juki MO 1000 is a home serging machine that takes all the hassle out of threading a serger. This model is loaded with important features that not only produce a great seam but take the mystery out of serging. Perfect for the sewist just learning to serge, the MO 1000 offers all the quality that Juki is noted for in a compact, convenient machine.

The MO 1000 is a 4-thread, 2-needle serger and overlock machine that comes packed with the most important features, including Juki’s special Jet-Air threading technology. No longer is threading the loopers a hassle, as this machine threads itself at the push of a button using only a burst of air sent from the electric motor! Threading mistakes, struggling with thread guides, and poor quality stitches are a thing of the past with the MO 1000.

In addition to the amazing air looper threader, the MO 1000 also has automatic needle threading, an upper looper 2-3 thread converter function, and knob-adjustable differential feed. It also has easy stitch length and thread tension dials for perfect, custom adjustment with any fabric. These and other features make serging different types of fabrics, including knits, quick and easy while obtaining the best results. It has a top sewing speed of 1500 SPM for quick, easy serging, overlocking, and hemming.

The throat between the top of the machine and the needle plate is over 70mm high, providing ample space for working. The workspace is brightly lit by a built-in, cool-running LED light that, combined with the throat space, makes the MO 1000 very user-friendly and easy to work with.

Other features of the Juki MO 1000 that make it a versatile machine for producing professional quality garments and other items include adjustable presser foot pressure, cut width adjustment, the ability to deactivate the upper knives, a thread trimming blade, and a convenient waste collection bin to keep things neat. The machine also has a safety mechanism that prevents it from running while the presser foot is up.

The MO-1000 is a compact machine measuring approximately 13” x 11” but it’s 20 lb weight makes it solid and stable when in use. This quiet running machine comes with a standard presser foot, a supply of needles and a threader, a tweezer and other machine cleaning tools, thread nets, a guide bar, an accessory pouch, a vinyl cover, and much more.

The MO 1000 is covered by Juki’s 5-year warranty on mechanical parts, 2-year warranty on electrical parts, and includes 90 days of labor and adjustment coverage. Warranty applies only for personal use machines; commercial use of this machine voids the warranty.

The Juki MO 1000 - The Easiest-Threading Serger Machine To Make Professional-Quality Garments!

Adjustable Differential Feed

Even with easily stretched fabrics such as knits and georgette, create beautifully sewn finishes by adjusting the differential feed.

Gather fabric with a true 2:1 ratio on any fabric you like knowing the end result will stay consistent every time.

Beautiful Sharp Curve

The distance between the needle and knife is 9.95mm (conventional model: 15.5mm), allowing you to sew beautiful inside curves.

Upper Looper Converter 2-/3- Thread Conversion

Switch to 2-thread sewing simply by pushing the 2-/3-thread changeover attachment to the left, making this operation even easier.

Wide Throat Area

The height of the throat is 72.4mm, creating an easy-to-use, spacious workspace.

Quiet Operation

The sound-reducing design minimizes the operating noise and allows the unit to sew with less vibration.

LED Sewing Light

The needle area is brightly illuminated, making serging less stressful on your eyes.

Waste Collector

Provided as a standard accessory, the waste collector catches cut-off fabric.

Other Useful Features:

  • Automatic rolled hemming
  • Option to deactivate upper knife
  • Safety feature preventing operation when the presser foot is in the upper position or the cover is open
  • Thread trimming blade for easy thread cutting
  • Adjustable presser foot pressure
  • Cutting width adjusting dial

Convenient Threading with the Easy Threader

Using the new easy threader feature, easily thread the machine from the threading hole to the looper with the power of a strong whoosh of air sent from the electric motor. This amazing function dramatically alters upper and lower looper threading.

1. Insert 1 to 2 cm of thread.
2. Press the air-control pushbutton.
3. And you're done! The machine was simply threaded by air.

Automatic Needle Threader

Quickly thread the needle! With the automatic needle threader, the needle is threaded in 3 easy steps.

1. Lower the threading lever
2. Hook the thread
3. Return the lever to finish threading

starsA marked expansion of interest in sewing over time has confirmed this to be the machine of choice on every count.

Posted by I. Giles on 21st Dec 2017

This was bought as an extension to the Janome CXL 301 sewing machine. Both of these were bought following extensive investigations on-line and, more importantly, following extensive discussion with the eventual supplier as regards pluses and minuses. The Janome has fully lived up to the requirement for a machine that would suit a returning out-of-practice home sewer where the machine would make life easier without straying into areas that might become too complex for natural satisfaction.

The target now was for a machine that would do its job as a supporting addition to the sewing machine and the advice offered was to purchase one of two models that were more of a technological match to the Janome sewing machine and at a lower price point. Few suppliers would suggest a cheaper machine when a more expensive one could be bought which added to a sense of trusted advice. The Juki MO-1000 was more expensive than either suggestions and, it was thought, to be out of proportion to the Janome machine. Nevertheless it was the one finally decided upon for the following reasons.

Where possible it makes sense to purchase equipment that makes the technical side of the job as straightforward as possible. This leaves the user free to work without having to fight with technical issues. Those same considerations must also apply to sewing if success is to become more attainable and the activity more pleasurable.

Threading is a key consideration and this machine's ability to thread the lower loopers with its air technology is a tremendous advantage in practice. As it also threads the upper loopers all threading is therefore completely simplified and reliable. The technology is equally reliable in all other aspects and, key evidence here, the result has been a marked expansion of sewing activity and pleasure in the tasks.

Users may find that the most efficient way to progress is to have both machines available on her table at the same time allowing for easy double usage. Over-locking the seams is a great advantage, the only snag being to complete the operation by doubling back which is tricky to achieve neatly. It has proved to be easier to fasten some over-locked seams by using the standard sewing machine. It is also possible to fasten over-locked seams with another overlapping over-locked seam going in a different direction.

This has proved to be a well-made and very straightforward machine to use. It has been completely justified in its use to buy an over-locker such as this one that is a more advanced machine than the normal sewing machine then use them in tandem with each complementing the other.

A marked expansion of interest in sewing over time has confirmed this to be the machine of choice on every count.

    Simply Awesome!

Posted by SLS on 20th Dec 2017

My daughter purchased Juki MO-1000 Serger Push Button Jet Air for me from Amazon. Delivered promptly - everything intact. Love this machine...had it a few months now, use it almost daily with no issues. Even grandchildren 6,7 and 9 years old, have used it (with adult supervision) to make their very own pillow cases.

Please Note: It has occurred to me recently why there are not more reviews on Amazon for this product. This is an expensive item and readily available at Juki dealers throughout USA...thus customers go to get hands-on, free lessons and demonstrations. and buy from local dealers. Not to mention local repair service if need be. Those who are shut-ins, or there are no Juki dealers within reasonable driving distance...buy online. No Juki dealers in my area so daughter ordered it for me online. I'm thrilled with it and highly recommend. Jet Air threading is awesome.

    I would buy it again.

Posted by W. Higgins on 20th Dec 2017

Wife wanted a serger. I did the research. This is what I bought. She loves it, and I'd buy it again. Here's why:
    1. Wasn't sure the air feed was worth a $300 adder, but it is.
    2. Amazon was $300 cheaper than local store. I love supporting locals, and went there to see what they could do for me, but that's 25% difference.
    3. Janome is a maintenance hog, and makes you say bad words.
    4. Babyloc is good, just more expensive for the same basic features, and is made in the Brother factory.
    5. You don't need the MO-1500 with electronic adjust tension. Just more electronic crap to break (and I'm an electrical engineer).

Incredible Serger - Threading a Breeze!!

Posted by Customer on 20th Dec 2017

I just bought this yesterday and WOW!! I didn't buy this one from Amazon only because I found a better price and I was able to trade another big brand which I disliked for threading. I was able to remove all the thread and had threaded in about 5 min took longer first time as I did not get enough thread pushed down far enough the first time; once I did was able to finish threading using the needle threader. In all my years of sewing and many sergers later, this is my favorite and easiest to thread. I really wanted a different brand that has a specialty stitch but could not justify the cost. I also have the juke 734 which I bought from Amazon like the machine but this one puts it to shame on the ease of threading. I can honestly say the extra money was worth it!

JUKI MO-1000 Serger - many good features!

Posted by Customer on 19th Dec 2017

Just received My Juki MO-1000 serger and am pleased as punch. It has a needle threader AND the jet air assisted threading for the loopers. Also the scrap catcher is nice. I bought the OTHER serger with air assist and no needle threader many years ago for $1800.00 floor model. And this costs me at least $500.00 less. Todays price on the OTHER serger is $2100.00 so the savings is considerable. I was told that Juki made the OTHER serger machines for them. Their engineers designed it but Juki manufactured them since the OTHER didn't have a factory.
