Starting with its 120 built-in utility and decorative stitches including 1 alphabet and 7 one-step buttonhole stitches, the Skyline S3 makes precision stitches at up to 820 SPM. There is a backlit LCD screen with a touchpad and easy machine controls such as needle position, stitch selection and adjustment, twin needle setting, mirror image, memory banks, and more. The machine also has 71 different needle positions for expanded versatility.
On the machine itself are stop/start, reverse stitch, needle up/down memory, and stitch speed control buttons in convenient locations. The Skyline S3 also offers easy automatic thread tension control so there is no guessing when changing stitches, fabrics, etc. Sewists are also aided with other convenience features like a one-hand needle threader, automatic tie-off/thread cutter, and more. There is a tangle-free, top-loading bobbin and a simple bobbin winder hidden under the top.
The Janome Skyline S3 has four ultra-bright LED lights on board to light up the workspace and a handy free arm design. There is a little over 8” of space to the right of the needle and a precision needle plate with many markings for the different needle positions. It uses a drop feed and Janome’s patented Superior Feed System for even fabric advancement and has 7 levels of presser foot pressure adjustment for different fabrics. These and many other features make the Skyline S3 a breeze to set up and work with no matter what is being sewn.
Accessories include more than a half-dozen essential presser feet, a set of spool holders, a supply of bobbins and needles, a foot control, a fabric cover, and everything needed to start sewing with this fun machine right away.

Dream machine
So happy with this machine. I haven't tried all the stitches yet, but so far it's been a dream. Very quiet and smooth. I love the thread cutter, threader and the larger throat.

Easy to use!
Love this machine! Works a lot like my old Elna so it is easy to use. So far, everything has gone well - did a run through of all the stitches and everything works. Love that it comes with some extra feet. It is a bit bigger than my Elna but that is a plus when sewing a large item - I can still pick it up and move it around but I usually keep it in one place. I will be using this machine to most of my normal sewing - think it will handle it with ease.

Excellent quiet sleek machine
I have only used it for a short while. I love the nice way it sews It I quiet and smooth. I haven't used any of the other stitches yet. I have used a pfaff machine for the last 24-5 years and this machine sees as smooth and quiet as it did at less than half the price. It has good lighting ( a must) , there is so much more to the machine that I haven't had a chance to try out yet. When I give a full review I will list pros and cons. One thing I don't like is the lack of info and videos on the web. The s5,7,9 have all kind of reviews and videos of everything about them. The s3 It was difficult to find any that did anything but tell you the parts of the machine. I will be using my machine both for quilting and general sewing. All in all, it is a larger heavier quiet machine. It is very quiet (I love) lots of nice pressor feet in the bundle. Well worth what I paid for it.

Janome is the best sewing brand!
Upgrade from Janome 8077 and loving this machine right out of the box! Sew easy and instructional DVD really helped introduce the new machine and basic operating instruction! Now the brand is amazing and sew user friendly that it won’t be overwhelming in fact for my quilting and sewing needs it’s perfect. About 3 years ago I bought my first Janome from SewVacDirect and Alan is very helpful! Thank you

Love,this sewing machine, just received this a few days ago and am amazed at all it can do as well as not being too complicated. It can do 120 stitches of all kinds and here are just a couple I played with.

I also like having the alphabet to make labels for the quilts
This machine is a gem. It's not only quiet, but it doesn't make the table bounce or vibrate when it's being used. In the part that is removed to use as a free arm, is an organizer for bobbins, needles, feet and other assessories. The things you need for the project at hand can be kept close without just sitting them by the machine and possibly knocking them of on to the floor, or them getting buried under scrap fabric. The extra high and wide area between the needle area and the machine was important to me as sew baby blankets and quilts. I also like having the alphabet to make labels for the quilts. Many decorative stiches are installed. I'm looking.forward to using them on little girl dresses and doll clothes. One feature i didn't realize it had till I used it was thread cutting button. What a time saver that is! I researched many different machines over 2 years before I was able to purchase a new machine. I made the right decision. I'm looking forward to many hours of sewing pleasure, confident that I have a machine that will give professional looking results.
