The Janome HD3000 is constructed from a one-piece aluminum casting for lasting stability and durability. In addition, the Janome HD3000 sewing machine includes 18 stitches, an automated one-step buttonhole and a balance adjuster to get precise results no matter what kind of fabric you are using.

This machine has a top load bobbin system that is jam-proof, eliminating all your thread and bobbin jam issues. The 7-piece feed dog gives you great control over many different types of fabrics including specialty fabrics such as chiffon. The Janome’s drop-feed system allows for sewing free motion and attaching buttons.

The presser foot lifts extra high, allowing you to sew thicker fabrics and layered fabrics with ease. Sewers will also appreciate the 1-handed thread cutter with presser feet that snap on and off for convenience.

    Absent a needle up/down option

Posted by Marilyn on 14th Dec 2018

I am so disappointed that there is no needle up/down feature. My last Janome had one and I thought it was marvelous. I just received my machine today, unpacked it, set it up and....disappointment that that feature is missing. If I didn't need a machine now to finish Christmas gifts, I would return it.

So far I love my machine and how it doesn't struggle going through thick layers of fabric like binding a quilt.

    wonderful sewing machine

Posted by Cheryl Airth on 25th Oct 2018

I love my new machine. I haven't found anything it can't sew through yet. I am having a blast learning all of the stitches and using all of the presser feet. Update: I have had the machine for a year now and it is still sewing strong. I have done quilts, bags, home décor etc. Just wanted to say you can't go wrong with this machine. I even bought a more expensive sewing/embroidery machine but this one is my favorite.

Solid machine, some functions are not intuitive, good basic investment

Posted by necessaryevil on 25th Oct 2018

Granted, I only needed a new machine to be a backup to my Singer mechanical select-a-stitch. But this sews a bit faster and is quieter, so now it's my regular machine. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but that's fine with me. Pros: - The needle stops as soon as you remove your foot from the pedal (as opposed to completing a stitch and raising to the up position) - it might take some getting used to if you've been sewing with most modern machines that raise the needle, but it's nice to not worry about extra stitches! - Fairly quiet machine - Strong feed dogs - Comes with overlock foot! Cons: - Mechanical stitch selection is clunky and I can never remember which way to turn the wheel - No ability to shift the needle left (only right) to adjust stitch width - Have to shift stitch selector after completion of each buttonhole (does not automatically reset) - Reverse stitch button is not located in the usual place over near the needle, but is the large lever on the front - takes more getting used to All in all, I'm pleased with it, along with all the extras that come with the package. It's a solid machine, easy set up/threading, and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the computerized machines (which I didn't need/want). Would I buy it again though? Probably not. I like the electronic stitch selection of other machines better, as well as more familiar function placement.
