Janome Company Warranty
Just...wow! I recently purchased the DC2015 to meet my sewing needs and was immediately blown away with its finish and feature set. Few reviews existed beyond what I discovered here and other places throughout the net. I took a gamble and the return rewarded me exceedingly.
Honestly, the pics of the unit "spooked" me: I'm a guy and just don't get the "strawberry & cream" color combo or any of the Janome's offering in the DC line for that matter. However, once I got, the elegance and feel of quality finish from Janome exstinquished my deep reservations. Out of the box with stock needle, the DC2015 sewed exceptionally through some of field gear (military) without a whimper. I'm talking heavy webbing sandwiched with nametape and the like -- no problem.
For its portability and small-footprint, the DC2015 also packs an enviable feature set. For example, the extra-lift of the presser foot helps when dealing with thicker or bulky material. There's also dual spool set up that allows one to even thread bobbin while maintaining a primary threading. Then, additionally, one has access to fine tune pressure foot based on fabric material. Lighting about the machine is LED. But the most unexpected discover was the DC2015 ample storage box space.
I'm neither a professional nor advance user by any means, so the out-of-the-box setup astounded with impressive results. Considering what I have purchased in the last two years (a Juki DLN 9010 Industrial straight stitch, Brother DreamweaverXE VM6200D, and Janome DC4030p), I cannot be any more content with the DC2015! My Juki and Brother are stored. The 4030 was a gift to my daughter. In fact, it was the very machine that inspired my purchase of another Janome.
It probably reflects that I don't write many reviews, and that's for a reason. Nevertheless, if you're considering DC2015 or any sewing machine in its price range, give it a try.
I got a hankering to try a little free motion thread sketching and dug out the Singer Touchtronic 2001 (manufactured, ironically, in 1978) inherited from my mother-in-law. After several hours of frustration with broken thread and bobbin malfunction, I decided it was time to step into the 21st century and purchase a new machine. Thus began hours of research trying to understand what would meet my needs without breaking the bank or being far more machine than I could handle. I landed on the Janome DC2015--and am glad I did.
After unboxing, I'll admit that I was a bit taken aback by the 'Fisher Price' look of the machine. After working with it however, all my concerns about whether it was robust enough to perform were alleviated. The machine is very quiet and well-balanced, even at speed. Stitches are perfectly formed. Threading and bobbin-winding and placement are intuitive and easily accomplished. I just completed a stitch bible using the default settings, and also adjusting for stitch width and length, to use for later reference. The only issues I experienced were user-based. On one stitch, I reduced the stitch length to the lowest setting and the machine bogged down, and on another I was speeding along and ran out of bobbin thread. Compared to the time spent picking out threads from the Singer Touchtronic, I consider this a victory.
I would highly recommend this machine to any sewist who wants something a step above the basic machines you would find at Joann's, but perhaps isn't quite ready to plunk down $2500+ on a machine that might turn out to be way more than they will ever need.
I really like this machine. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was that my last machine was much more expensive therefore, heavier, quieter and smoother running but for the price difference this machine is just what I wanted.
My wife loves it, so I do too
Bought this for my wife, as our old machine finally could not be repaired. She loves it.
