I’ve only used it a week, but so far, I love it!
We just got this machine where I work. I LOVE it!! We sew some very thick items. Our previous machine just couldn't hack it. We kept taking it in for service. This one is very different. It sews through thick layers of canvas seams & strapping like butter. I'm going to have to get one for home use since I have now been spoiled at work! :)
I love this machine. It will sew thru several thicknesses of fabric and not even bog down. Would recommend it to everyone that needs a heavy-duty machine.
I bought this machine about 5 years ago to use with a Grace quilt frame. The frame has been in storage, but the machine has become my "go to" for everything it will do (opposed to my Janome Horizon 7700QCP). Straight stitch only. Extremely heavy duty. Bobbins larger and different. Super fast. The fastest on "turtle" is faster than I can go after 35 years of sewing/quilting. Great tension. Great for freemotion. I do have the cover plate for FMQ but great tip to use Supreme Slider. I used a piece of cardboard before I got the plate. Also use the FMQ hopping foot. If you are looking for sturdy, mechanical, fast, straight stitch, this is THE One.
I've had troubles with less expensive machines since my old Viking gave up the ghost years ago. And by less expensive, I bought a $1,000 Janome with all kinds of fancy stitches (which I didn't ever use). This is sturdy and a workhorse. I use it for making quilts and have never had any trouble at all.
The needle threader works but it a tad more awkward than others I've had but it has a thread cutter, press a button and both threads cut. It's worth the trade off to spend an extra second or two threading the needle.
