Description

An accessory that every serious sewist needs, the Bertha by Arrow is a beautiful cabinet with great features. Designed to handle today’s larger sewing and embroidery machines, Bertha is a great choice for those who put in many hours with their machine and need something strong, sturdy, and functional.

The Bertha Embroidery Machine model has an EZ-lift airlift mechanism that will hold machines up to 45 pounds. It can move the machine up and down into three different height positions of flatbed, free arm, and storage for comfortable and correct use. Putting the machine into storage position is easy, requiring only a little push.

Additionally, it has a cutout in the front for knee lifters, positions the needle in the correct place to prevent neck and back strain, and allows positioning of the machine at any height.

The Bertha Embroidery model compacts well with the machine in the storage position, closing up to look like any other piece of furniture in the room. Open, the doors hold 8 separate storage trays that offer plenty of room for holding sewing tools, machine accessories, and more.

Accommodating larger machines up to 22-9/16" wide, 11-3/4" deep, and 14-1/2" tall including the knobs, the Bertha Embroidery model offers a large amount of workspace to the left and right when opened up.

In addition, it includes a rear quilt leaf that expands the work surface to the rear by 5 feet, enough to prevent bunching and keep a quilt from hanging off the machine and pulling on the project.

The Arrow Bertha Embroidery model comes with easy to follow instructions and assembles quickly with only a few simple household tools. It’s made from wood grain vinyl laminate/MDF/Composite and includes locking casters for easy maneuverability and stability.

Arrow provides a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty starting from the date of shipping for all products. There is also an additional 15-day warranty for any damage incurred during shipping.

Machines that will not fit / Not recommended:

This lists the sewing machines that Arrow knows do not fit or are not compatible with the Bertha cabinet model 98700, 98701 and 98702.

Baby Lock

  • Destiny

Brother

  • Dream VX8500D

Elna

  • eXpressive 920 -
    • The sewing machine width of 23.5” is longer than the platform of the Bertha cabinet and the same width as the opening.

Janome

  • 15,000, Horizon Memory Craft 15,000
    • The sewing machine width of 23.5” is longer than the platform of the Bertha cabinet and the same width as the opening.

Viking

  • Designer Epic

The following machines fit, but with issues:

Baby Lock

  • Ellissimo (BLSO), Ellissimo Gold (BLSOG), Ellissimo Gold 2

The handles of the BabyLock Ellissimo are wider than the opening of the Bertha cabinet and in order to put the machine into the storage position, the handle must be upright when lowering the platform. Then the machine must be tipped forward to allow you to fold the handle down. This must be done in reverse to bring the machine up.

Bernina

  • Series 7- 780, 750 QE, 710

The machines will fit the opening and platform of the cabinet but the height of the machine does not allow the top right leaf to close completely when the machine is in storage position.

Brother

  • Quattro 3 Trilogy LE Innovis 6750D, Quattro 2 7600D, Quattro, NV6000D & NV6500D

The handles of the Brother Quattro are wider than the opening of the Bertha cabinet and in order to put the machine into the storage position, the handle must be upright when lowering the platform. Then the machine must be tipped forward to allow you to fold the handle down. This must be done in reserve to bring the machine up.

*These machines are ones that have known fit issues. Please be advised that this list will change as new models are introduced. It is extremely important to measure your machine prior to ordering to make sure it will fit.

    The cabinet is well designed.

Posted by Erika Hirsch on 21st Jul 2013

The cabinet is well designed. It took longer than expected to together and had a lot of parts. The airlift system was extremely hard to operate at first. After spraying it multiple times with WD40 it loosened up some. Overall, I am satisfied with the product. It is a good buy compared to other cabinets on the market.

This cabinet was easy to put together and a well built cabinet. When I have to put furniture together I expect at least one thing to go wrong but everything was perfect!

    Love this cabinet!

Posted by Peg W on 12th Jan 2012

I absolutely love this cabinet, and the price from SewVac Direct is a steal. Plan to have 2 people spend a good 3 - 4 hours to assemble, but it is well worth it when it is finished. We had a bit of trouble as my husband and I were assembling it, but the manufacturer was great to work with for questions. This is one of the only cabinets I found that actually lets you sit in front of the needle part of the machine instead of centered on the machine. Makes both sewing and embroidery much more comfortable.
