Made In The USA With All USA Made Parts!
It is unique for a few reasons, the most obvious being that it is soft. It is made of high-density foam that allows you to pin into it easily, great for the sewer who uses the draping technique of pattern drafting. Being made of foam means it is ideal for use by corset makers as it can be squeezed and shaped much like the human body.
Uniquely You Dressform includes a cover as well!

Love this form, i wish it stood just a little taller, but other than that it is perfect!

I put a long, strong cord through the hole in the slider and put duct tape at the other end. It works wonderfully. I can get myself in and out of the cover in a flash as I alter. More later when I finish.

I ordered this dress form on Monday night, and it was on my porch on Friday afternoon. Way sooner than expected!
Easy to assemble the stand, but tough to put the cover on. I believe it would be easier with a second set of hands...but it does go on with lots of work! You shouldn't need to cut the breasts...it just take a lot of squeezing the sides together to get it zipped...but they will compress into the size you make your cover.

I think this is the greatest thing since slice bread! I looked high and low, for a dress form, before purchasing this one and I am glad I did!!! Other dress forms would still need patter adjustments, this one just seems easier. It took me two days to alter the cover, mainly because my daughters didn't really understand how to help me pin it to alter it to my body, needless to say after many do-overs, I finally got it altered. Now, putting it on the dress form took some muscle, but I got it on there. I'm very satisfied :D

Note: You will need help fitting the cover and help putting it on (one person to squeeze the cover together while the other zips. I had to reshape and cut down the breasts on this thing. They are MASSIVE! Other than the required help in getting this set up to use... I LOVE IT! I have been so frustrated for so long trying to sew for myself. I have a short waist (short back to waist length) and narrow shoulders so I HAVE to custom fit everything. This dress form is a lifesaver and the best deal for the money. GREAT BUY!

My dress form came right on time. I love it. But when I took it out of the box it had black hand prints all over it. Not a big deal since the cover wasn't on it yet.

I have been sewing and designing my own clothing for decades and this is the first dress form I have ever purchased. If you are experienced enough to alter the canvas cover to fit your exact measurements you will have no problem following the instructions that are provided; however, if you are new to dressmaking just take yourself and your canvas cover down to your local tailor shop and have them fit it for you. The fee to have it altered is definitely worth the money. I tried making one of those duct tape dummies and all I got was disappointment. I am beyond pleased with this form and have already made two garments and the fit is dead-on accurate!

I would give it a 4 1/2 stars if I could, but I can't give it 5 because it has a couple flaws such as not being on wheels (which would be way easier to move) and the cover is extremely difficult to put on the form.
But, besides those two things, this dress form is AWESOME! It took me only an hour to put it together and I did it by myself. The instructions said you need two people, but I'm impatient and stubborn and I wanted it NOW!!! :)
For anyone wondering how to do it alone, I used no pins when fitting the cover on myself. Just tailor's chalk. I looked in the mirror and pinched it where I needed darts and drew them on, then I sewed it! For fitting the cover on the dress form, what I did was use two leather belts that have grommets all the way around (like from Hot Topic). I put the cover on the form and hooked the zipper together and zipped as far as possible. Then, I laid the dress form down and put belts on either side of the zipper EXTREMELY tight. I would zip it two inches, then move the belts. Zip it another two inches, then move the belts. It took FOREVER but it worked!
Anyway I love this form. Although it has no wheels, it's light enough that it isn't so bad to carry around. And the best thing is, it's my exact measurements with no padding required!! You can also pin all the way in the form which is awesome. I already used it to alter a dress that didn't fit and I didn't try it on myself a single time, and after using the UY form it fit perfectly!! :)

After receiving my dress form, I decided to see if there was a video to show how to fit the cover. Unfortunately there wasn't. The instructions are okay but visually seeing how it's done reaffirms any questions on certain steps. This would definitely be a plus. I am only 4'9" so I was concerned if I made the right choice. After completing the cover and putting it on the form I am totally pleased with the product. I also chose it because it is 100% MADE IN USA! This is Very important to me. Thanks for a great product and your company is definitely one I will buy from in the future.
Sincerely

I am still struggling with making my form small enough to fit me. I am not that skinny personally. My measurements are 37-28-36.
The dummy is 32 inches around the waist, making her 4 inches bigger than I am, and 2 inches bigger in the bust and hips. However, I have a hard time pulling up the zipper on the cover as it is. If I take in the cover that much more, I can't imagine how I will ever zip it up. I'm afraid to actually cut off several inches of the foam. Any ideas to help me?
