It is unique for a few reasons, the most obvious being that it is soft. It is made of high-density foam that allows you to pin into it easily, great for the sewer who uses the draping technique of pattern drafting. Being made of foam means it is ideal for use by corset makers as it can be squeezed and shaped much like the human body.

Uniquely You Dressform includes a cover as well!

To select the proper dress form and cover size:

Take the measurements over under garments at the fullest part of hip and bust to the closest half-inch.
Select your form size according to hip measurement.
Then select your cover size according to your bust measurement. The chart applies even if you are short-waist (half-size) or long waist.
Find your cover size across from your form size and select below.

Wow, great and FAST service! My dress form was much easier to put together and get started than some youtube videos had indicated... Put the cover on once and measured; had to take the seams in some more but fit perfect the next time. Pretty easy to stuff the cover, too. Very happy!

I had been considering several types of dressforms, but decided to go with Uniquely You because it seemed to be the best quality for the lowest price, while still being able to shape it closer to my own body size (I have a very long torso and many other forms can't adjust to that length). It was shipped quickly and arrived in about 3 days. I had to wait a few days to get it set up, but basically I had it in a usable form about a week after I ordered it. So far the quality of the product seems very good, and I really like the way it turned out. It was a little bit of an effort to get it set up (plan to spend a day with a good friend/relative), but the results are worth it. The form is fairly lightweight and fully pinable because it is foam, but comes with a metal stand that seems like it will be able to hold up if there are heavy fabrics being draped.

I love this dressform. It is sturdy and very professional quality. It took me about 3 hours to do all the fittings, sewing and getting it on the stand. My husband helped with fittings and did great-you really must have a friend to help with that part. I tried one of the flimsy plastic shell-type dressforms before this, but it was cheap feeling and also didn't allow for a super-long torso adjustment I needed. This one created a body-double that's pretty darn close to my measurements (not perfect). I'm having a blast re-modeling my ready-made clothes to fit my measurements--and I think they look much better!!!! Well worth the effort.
