Jiffy Steamer conducts 5 different tests on every steamer prior to shipping. We have 4 unique electrical tests and an actual steam test. Every steamer operates on our assembly line for several minutes to ensure that the unit runs properly. You may notice traces of water in the bottom of your new steamer. Have steamer, will travel!
Awesome steamer! This is worth every penny - don't waste your time with any others. I purchased the J-2I unit over the J2000 because it is basically the same unit Jiffy has been making for years, and time-proven to be a workhorse. Assembly took no more than five minutes and I was up and running. The construction reminded me of when I put my Weber grill together - the steamer is built like a tank just like the grill! As for use, you definitely need a steam board if you intend to make creases in garments, but rather than purchasing one I use my ironing board. I have it hanging on a wall rack so the board is already resting against the wall for stability. I also have an extra wide ironing board, which makes it easier. I'm amazed at the amount of steam the Jiffy puts out! I purchased the model with the additional heads and tried the steam nozzle out the other night to clean my stove top. I was amazed at how quickly it dissolved grease in those hard to reach crevices. One more thing - I was impressed at how easily the unit can be transported from room to room and up and down stairs. The wheels are stable when it came time to go downstairs, I found it very easy to move without spilling any water from the reservoir. Now, as for sewvacdirect, I could not be more impressed! I ordered my unit online on a Monday morning at around 5:45 AM. I did not buy the expedited shipping, but chose the free and figured I'd receive the unit in about a week. However, I was amazed when I arrived home from work Tuesday evening (that's right - the very next day after ordering!!) and found my steamer on my front landing! This is the second item I've purchased from sewvacdirect and both times they have been a pleasure to deal with!
