    I previously had a MC8000, unfortunately the motherboard went and it was going to be too expensive to fix. I mostly do clothes construction and home decor projects, so I no longer had a need for such an elaborate machine. I wasn't expecting a lot from the Sewist 500, but I love it!! It does everything well! I especially like the adjustable presser foot pressure.
