Sew Vac Direct

I am really enjoying this machine but there is one thing I find I do not like and that is the location of the drop feed behind the machine. You have to remove the tray/platform to even get to it. I would love to know why they put access to a function that is used so frequently by quilters in such a bothersome place instead of on the front where it is easily reached. I hope they stop doing that with future machines. I plan to sink it into a table so I will have to lift the machine out to drop the feed or raise them each time so if you are wanting to put it in a cabinet this is not the machine you want unless you think you will never use the drop feed feature.

In the removable platform is a storage tray but when you try to open it the whole thing comes off platform and all. I wish the platform had been attached better. It's not a deal breaker for me since I won't be able to use the storage anyway because of the way it will be set in the table. I am hoping they redesign the platform so it is sturdier and stays in place better.

The book that comes with it is very good. It explains the machine and tells you how to dial in the stitches. It's a great machine for beginners whether they are sewing quilts or clothing.

Over all, I think it is a great machine.

I received the machine promptly and with all the parts except the extra pack of needles in the bonus pack. It was very easy to set up right out of the box and sews beautifully. Although several other sources have this machine at the same price, the inclusion of the bonus pack makes Sew Vac the cheapest. I haven't had a chance to use all the features yet. but the machine seems very sturdy and well constructed. AND IT ISN'T MADE IN CHINA. There have been numerous quality issues with Chinese made sewing machines. I picked this particular model because I need a number of stretch stitches and this has every stitch I am likely to want to use and at least five that I don't need, but it is better to have a machine with more features than you need than just enough or too few. If you buy this machine, be aware that they pack the buttonhole foot in the accessory drawer, so be sure to look there if you think they forgot to send it.
