The machine was easy to set up and thread. It sews quietly and the built in stitches are great for decorative finsishing and for materials that unravel easily.

Fast service! I have just sewn on the Janome 660 sewing machine and so far, like it alot. It was just what I was looking for--simple but with everything I need. After 7 years of using a Viking with just too much on it (overwhelming for me) I wanted something simpler, smaller and lighter weight. After reading reviews on the Janome 660 it sounded like what I was looking for, so I sold my Viking and got enough money to buy the 660 with $1 to spare. It works slick--easy thread bobbin--easy thread machine, does a lot but it is clean looking and not a bit confusing.
Great pricing by SewVacDirect!!

I am very pleased with the Janome Jem Gold 660 Sewing Macnine. I am enjoying the small, light weight machine. It is perfect for carrying to quilting classes. I placed the order on thursday and received it by UPS on the following tuesday.

I would give this little machine a 5 star. It's lightweight and easy to transport around the house. It has many features that a bigger machine would have. Since I'm a quilter- I love to use it for piecing and to take to quilt guild classes. I'm thankful for the needle threader and drop in bobbin (easy to see). I love it!

i love the janome gold, this is my second one. I gave my other one to a missionary going to lao's. I take it when i do missionary work in other countrys and to quilt camps, i actually use it more then my expensive phaff. Carol

I ordered the 660 Jem Gold as a second machine to use for quilt classes, retreats, and backup. It was recommended to me by friends who own it for the same reasons. I'm very pleased with it, sews well, easy to use, does everything I need it to do. Also happy with the quilting accessories that came with it.

Performs well for regular sewing--great to take to classes, on vacation, etc.--especially if you can't carry the heavier machines! My quilting foot attachment does not work as well as the one I got for the electronic model, Jem Platnium (which is the newer Jem)

I bought a Gem when this model first came out. I have used it regularly for the past 5 years, and it is a totally reliable workhorse (workpony?). The stitch quality is beautiful and it handles all weights of fabrics that I have tried, up to heavy denims. It makes very neat and even butonholes too. Don't let the small size fool you - this machine is tough!

I love this machine. I have had it for at least 4 years. It travels well, sews well and is the lightest and best quality machine available for the the low price. I'd buy it again.
