What I love ~ the stitch selection is adequate for most projects. I am an advanced intermediate sewer and have used this machine for 2 years now, and have made lots of clothes with it. Sews beautifully over heavy seams, very convenient dials etc., but I have come up short on two accounts. There is not much vertical space for your hand when threading needle or changing feet or anything that requires work near the needle plate. My old singer had lots of room so I was spoiled I guess. The needle up down lever is on the right side rather than the rear of the needle, and I am still getting used to that. However, the biggest problem for me is that the button hole foot does not work well. It stops mid stream and the thread knots up below the needle and it will not move forward. I have to do the buttonholes manually now using zig zag, and it is possible beause you can drop the feed dogs. Just takes longer and they are not as pretty as machine buttonholes.I just remembered one other issue is that I find it to be super finicky as far as threads, needles, and frequent jam ups for malfunctioning bobins and the like. I am pleased with the overall way it sews-stitches and that, but had I to do it over again, I would spend a bit more if I could and check out the next machineby using it if I could. Hope that helps. PS. It took me a long time to decide on this machine as there was not much to compare it to in that price range. The best of luck in your search and with your purchase.
I love it!
