I bought the Brother pc420 project runway sewing machine in April, 2011. I just love this sewing machine. It's a really nice machine, & fun to use. I've been sewing for 40+ years, & have about 18 yrs. sewing experience in factories on industrial machines. I owned one for about 20 yrs., so I'm not easily impressed with home models. The pc420 is a very quiet machine. When I took it out of the box, I looked through the manual, & was sewing with it that night. The manual is well written. The machine sews very free, it didn't feel stiff like others I've used. I've sewned on sheer fabrics to demin & fleece. It sews like a dream. I really enjoy sewing on it & look forward to using it for yrs. I highly recommend the pc420 to anyone who enjoys sewing & being creative.

My wife's expensive Pfaff went to heck again after repairing it a little over a year ago. We felt it was time to get a new machine with the price tag our local Pfaff dealer wanted to fix it. Researched machines and we felt the Brother PC420 would be the good choice. We ordered the machine and it came in less than a week with no troubles. My wife has now used it for several weeks and is very pleased with it's features and functions and doing everything she wants from repairs to quilts. She was impressed with all the feet that came with the machine that in the past she had to buy separately. It is a great machine at a great price and a great ordering experience. We would do the same thing again. Thanks.

A lot of research went into this purchase. Upon receiving the machine a brief review of the supplied pictorial quick start guides was in order and shortly was sewing away. The reviews I read were all very complementary of the machine however none of them came close to the pleasure experienced in using it. First off the machine is very straight forward in its setup and use. Quiet is an understatement. I lost myself the first night spending several hours becoming more and more convinced that buying this machine was the best thing I could have done. In short Brother has convinced me that the other sewing machine company (######) has been blown out of the water without a doubt. Unsure of which machine to buy?? !!!You will love this one !!! I would give it 20 stars if I could, and the same goes for Sew Vac Direct (Awesome).. (Hint--check internet for coupon codes)
Great machine

Easy to use especially considering all the features. Great manual far far better than the Singer machines I have. Has lots of nice stitches including many "heirloom" stitches (make your own Entreduex etc.) but when it didn't have an Edging Scallop I was able to use "My Custom Stitch" to create one--fantastic. Machine sewed great right out of the box especially love not needing the foot control as I have to stand while sewing but now I can kneel! I got the refirbished unit but still think the full priced new one is a great deal. Did need to use stabilizer with some batiste (due to minor pukering) that the serger can handle without, but the stitching looked great once stabalized with a minimum of fuss didn't even have to adjust tension, pretty nice.

I do not sew for a living, but I have ALWAYS wanted to learn!! I am an artist in my leisure time, which is predominately painting and drawing. However, I have been designing clothing and furniture over the years for myself, friends, and family. This ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE machine has made my imagination come to life!! It has made sewing a breeze and I would not be able to continue without it! Anything less than this machine would "cripple" me completely! I would bet that I could not even sew a simple straight line without it! The custom-stitch option is so cool. I DID have to study the manual a bit, but this machine TRULY does it all for you! I am so impressed that someone like me without ANY sewing talent, can create the things I do now. BUY ONE TODAY IT IS AMAZING!!! I wish I could give it twenty stars!!********************
